Program
“How to Prepare”
workshops for skill building
At pop-up locations throughout Vancouver, Washington, Clark County and Portland, Oregon
January, March, May, September, and October.
Workshop style
Each one is designed using “popular education” style. Lots of interaction between participants and facilitator. And these are certified and trained emergency preparedness professionals.
Spanish and Latinx
The January workshop will be presented in Spanish. Our targeted outreach and pop-up locations will seek out folx that may be largely overlooked in emergency preparedness communication methods.
Learning activities
How to begin a communications plan
How/where to store drinking water
What to do during the earthquake and after
Safety and first-aid
How to get involved with uour neighborhood team
Door Prize Drawing
At each workshop, we hope to have a free gift drawing for all participants to receive a preparedness gift at the conclusion of the workshop. This is dependent on our available funding.
We start with awareness of potential situations.
Here in the Pacific Northwest, in the age of erratic weather events including wildfire smoke and extreme heat, we must understand the dangers that may arrive in our community.
Our workshops give you knowledge, but also confidence to begin these uncomfortable conversations with your household.
